Synopsis

Sahodaraya follows the journey of two friends, Ajantha and Rajiv, whose lives intertwine in a shared mission to challenge societal and political injustices. Rajiv, a brave journalist, uses his pen as a weapon to expose the corruption and hypocrisy in Sri Lankan politics. His fearless reporting, however, draws the wrath of powerful figures who use thuggery and media control to protect their positions. Tragically, Rajiv pays the ultimate price for his courage when he is assassinated for unveiling the dark truths of the system.

In the aftermath of Rajiv’s death, Ajantha takes on the role of a guardian for Rajiv’s grieving family, continuing his friend’s mission with unwavering determination. Ajantha’s deeply emotional, imaginary conversations with Rajiv reveal the depth of his love and loyalty, as well as his struggles to awaken a society numbed by corruption.
