Born on April 19, 1975, in Kesbewa, Sri Lanka, Dharmapriya’s journey into the arts began early. He showed a passion for drama during his school years at Sir John Kothalawala Maha Vidyalaya and Piliyandala Central College, where he studied under the guidance of Premakumara Karunaratne, a well-respected mentor in the Sri Lankan arts community. His academic journey later led him to earn a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colombo and a Master of Arts from the University of Kelaniya, both of which provided a solid foundation for his diverse career in the arts.


Over the years, Dharmapriya has made a name for himself in Sri Lanka’s entertainment industry through his versatility and dedication.
